Trisha Calvarese (she/her) is the Director of Speechwriting and Publications at the AFL-CIO. She served as speechwriter to the 14th and 15th directors of the National Science Foundation, the independent federal agency with an $8.5 billion (FY2021) budget to seed scientific discovery. Formerly, she is the Senior Writer and Speechwriter at Conservation International.
She also managed a Congressional Campaign for the former Managing Director of Jaguar ltd, launched an international viral new media campaign for women’s driving rights in Saudi Arabia, and was the inaugural press intern for Sen. Sanders (I-VT). Trisha has published in multiple outlets and has contributed to an international bestselling biography.
As a Hodson Scholar at the Johns Hopkins University, she studied writing seminars, film & media, and psychology & brain science.
